Hiring: A Technical Support Representative

ScribbleLive’s technical support team is the first point of contact for our clients that need help. We take pride in helping our clients quickly and professionally, making the live publishing experience better for major media companies around the world.

The ideal candidate possesses exceptional communication and customer service skills and takes pride in providing outstanding support to clients.

You will:

  • Be the first person our clients contact when they need help with our product.
  • Answer support emails from our clients in a timely and friendly manner.
  • Write support documentation and FAQs for clients and staff.
  • Troubleshoot software issues (user error, software bug, server error) and escalate to the appropriate department as necessary.
  • Become a master of our product by learning it inside and out.
  • Write detailed bug reports to send to our dev team.
  • Track support issues and client requests and suggest improvements to our product development team.
  • Participate in on-call support rotation.

You need to have:

  • Front-line customer service experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
  • Supreme understanding of the internet. You’re the one your friends text when they can’t figure out how to set up a YouTube account.
  • Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to put yourself into our client’s shoes and see things as they see them.
  • An understanding of HTML and how web pages are created.
  • A passion for learning; growing and continually taking on new responsibilities.

It would be nice if you had:

  • Experience supporting web based applications in a customer service or helpdesk environment.
  • Experience writing in languages other than English.

New ScribbleLive hire: Italian journalist Lillo Montalto Monella

As Scribble expands into international markets, we have also been expanding our staff to include those whose thirst for knowledge have taken them around the world.

Enter Lillo Montalto Monella, a globetrotting reporter joining our digital journalism team who speaks Italian, English and Spanish. A freelance writer and photographer, Lillo (prounced “Lee-lo,” like Lilo and Stitch) has covered a lot of great stories around the world, from Australia to England, Italy to Argentina.

He graduated from the University of Bologna with a degree in arts and modern literature, and ended up at London’s City University where he picked up a masters in international journalism.

The Scribble team’s newest member has worked with a variety of outlets, such as The Independent in London, Radio Citta’ Fujiko in Bologna and Metro in Buenos Aires. Lillo will work with the digital journalism team to help newsrooms improve their real-time coverage. Welcome, Lillo!

We’re hiring! (Senior front-end web-developer)

We’re looking for a great Senior front-end Web-developer to round-out our team! ScribbleLive is the most advanced live-publishing platform on the web today, and as our number of customers grows, we’re looking for someone to bring their passion and expertise to work for us. We’re a very agile, laid-back development shop located in the West-end of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The position will involve not only advanced working knowledge of XHTML+CSS, but also experience building templates. We want someone who can use their experience working with large websites, to develop comprehensive templating strategies and technologies on the ScribbleLive platform. Extensive experience with .NET, WordPress, or other Content Management Systems is a must. Intermediary knowledge of Javascript is also preferred.
