Scribble is proud to introduce four new features to improve both your reporters’ and readers’ liveblog experience. They will be rolled out this week, and we hope you like them!
SMS
First up, we’ve added UK phone numbers to our SMS and Voicemail features. Now our UK clients can submit updates to a liveblog via text message or voicemail to a local number: perfect for reporters sans smartphones, and a great solution for those days when the internet slugs at a painful pace. Local phone numbers are already available for our North American clients. If you’re interested in adding this feature to your account, contact your sales rep.
Caption editing
What you see is what you get: We’ve added WYSIWYG editing capabilities to captions on photos, videos and audio files. Now you can bold, italicize or add hyperlinks to all your captions.
Backend interface
You’ll notice a much more clean and simple backend interface. We’ve removed a lot of the clutter and hid the left column, so you have more space to focus on producing great content. We’ve also ditched the confusing LiveArticle icons of old to make it easy to find what you’re looking for.
Block quotes
Among those icons, we’ve added one with quotes. This gives you the power to add stylized block quotes to highlight bits of text inside your LiveArticle. Those quotes are automatically generated when you drag in a tweet or text update: now you can highlight a bit of text and apply the magazine-style block quote treatment to any piece of text with a simple click of a button.
